The Journey

A 70-Year Legacy • A Modern Movement

The 360 Community is not defined by walls, but by movement. Our journey is rooted in seven decades of faithful presence, evolving from a traditional parish into a relational hub where ancient traditions meet modern needs.

Our Story: From Roots to Release

  • The Legacy (1947–2022): Founded as St. Chad’s Anglican Church, our story began with 70 years of service in Vancouver, defined by a pioneering spirit and a commitment to bridging cultures.
  • The Great Release (2022): We recognized that a mission’s life is found in its movement, not its building. With the support of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster, we “released” our traditional structure to plant a new spiritual home in Richmond.
  • The Outward Shift (Today): Since 2024, we have shifted our focus intentionally toward the local Richmond neighborhood—focusing on the deep human need for belonging, mental wellness, and community advocacy.

The 360 Commitment

The name “360” reflects our commitment to welcoming people of all gender identities, cultures, ages, and life stages. Inspired by the teachings of Christ to love abundantly, we promise to:

  • Foster a Safe Environment: A space that is welcoming and free from judgment.
  • Uphold Dignity: Honoring the sacredness of every individual’s journey.
  • Work Together: Linking arms to uplift Richmond through compassion and service.

How We Walk Together: The Three Pillars

1. Circles: Belonging through Relational Safety

Every journey begins with a sense of safety. In our Circles, there is no head of the table. We prioritize deep listening and honor every voice, allowing you to belong at your own pace.

2. Connect: Community through Shared Discovery

We seek the meaning of life and the richness of spiritual life by looking at wisdom from many wells. While rooted in the Anglican tradition, we are open to explore. We use tools like Centering Prayer, the Way of Zen, and the Way of the Tao to quiet the noise and find the “Presence” within.

3. Justice: Compassion through Collaborative Partnership

Compassion must be concrete. Our inner growth becomes the fuel for outer service. We walk alongside our Richmond neighbors to turn relational empathy into local justice, advocacy, and care.

Institutional Roots, Organic Heart

The 360 Community occupies a unique space in Richmond:

  • Grounded in Tradition: Supported by the stability and accountability of the Anglican Diocese, giving us deep, historic roots.
  • Organic in Nature: We are a living, flexible movement. We prioritize people over programs and listening over dictates.
