Listening to the Heart, Acting for the City.
Compassion is concrete. We walk alongside our Richmond neighbors to turn relational empathy into local justice and care. By honoring each other’s stories, we evolve our understanding into action—cultivating a community where everyone truly belongs.
Our Approach: The Cycle of Advocacy
The 360 Community follows a continuous journey of relationship and action. We participate in the lives of our neighbors through six clear movements:
- Reaching Out: We move beyond our comfort zones to build bridges in neighborhoods, parks, and community spaces where people gather.
- Listening: We create safe spaces in our Talking Circles to hear the truth of lived experiences, honoring every voice without interruption or judgment.
- Accepting: We hold space for every person exactly as they are. Acceptance is our foundation; we walk with others regardless of their life circumstances.
- Understanding: We move from hearing words to grasping the deeper story—connecting individual experiences to the broader realities of our city.
- Working Together: We align our collective energy, partnering with neighbors, community experts, and other organizations to turn shared insights into practical support. We believe we are stronger when we link arms with existing groups to serve the city.
- Voicing Out: Taking action means refusing to stay silent. We speak up for the needs of the vulnerable and marginalized. Because many are often unwilling to listen to them, we ensure their faces and needs are seen, heard, and prioritized.
Our Pillars of Engagement
We focus our “Voicing Out” where the need for a spacious and gentle presence is greatest:
1. Inclusion & Belonging
We advocate for a city where cultural diversity is honored and systemic barriers to belonging—including physical and social accessibility—are removed.
2. Mental Health & Wellness
We promote mental health literacy and bridge cultural gaps to ensure wellness resources reach every neighbor, especially those who feel isolated.
3. Poverty Reduction
We speak out for the fundamental rights of our neighbors: housing security, food dignity, and a robust social safety net for the most vulnerable.
Our Collaborative Roots
The 360 Community is proud to have walked alongside and supported the mission of these local organizations and groups:
- Health & Wellness: Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), Richmond Addiction Services Society (RASS), BC Schizophrenia Society, Pathway Clubhouse Society.
- Inclusion & Belonging: Richmond Centre for Disability (RCD), Richmond Multicultural Community Services (RMCS), Richmond Local Immigration Partnership (S.U.C.C.E.S.S.).
- Social Justice: Richmond Poverty Reduction Coalition (RPRC), Chimo Community Services, Richmond Food Bank Society.
