Spiritual Exploration & The Practice of Presence
Connection at the 360 Community begins with the heart. We provide a spacious home for those seeking meaning, asking deep questions, and looking for a circle of companions to explore wisdom together—wherever that wisdom may be found.
The Heart of Our Journey: Abundant Love
At the center of our community is a simple yet radical goal: to seek the meaning of life through the richness of a spiritual life. While our roots are grounded in the Anglican and Christian traditions, we believe the “Way of Christ” is an invitation to love abundantly—a love that is not limited by labels, but expanded by every tradition that nourishes the human soul.
Ways We Grow Together
We offer a variety of communal practices and gatherings designed to quiet the noise and open the heart. Whether you seek silence or deep conversation, there is a seat in the circle for you.
1. The Path of Stillness & Flow
- The Way of the Tao: Practicing Wu Wei (non-forcing) to align ourselves with the natural rhythm of life and find harmony in the “Great Mystery.”
- The Way of Zen: Embracing simplicity, direct experience, and group meditation to calm the mind.
- Centering Prayer: A receptive, silent Christian contemplative practice of resting in the Divine presence.
- The Presence of the Moment: Mindfulness training to find the sacred in our daily Richmond lives.
2. Progressive Theology & Sacred Wisdom
- Progressive Theology: A space to deconstruct old dogmas and reconstruct a life-giving faith that embraces science, human rights, and social justice.
- Bible Study (Ancient Roots, Modern Context): Re-examining scriptures through a lens of liberation, compassion, and inclusion.
- Lectio Divina: An ancient way of “divine reading”—listening to a text with the “ear of the heart.”
- Book Clubs: Discussing works of philosophy, theology, and diverse spiritual wisdom.
3. Communal & Embodied Practices
- Silent Retreats: Dedicated time to step away from the city and listen to the “inner teacher.”
- Talking Circles: A safe, non-judgmental space where we hold each person’s lived experience as a sacred story.
- The Labyrinth: A walking meditation representing our winding spiritual journeys toward the center.
- Topical Workshops: Exploring the intersection of faith, psychology, and our community’s needs.
From Inner Growth to Outer Action
We believe that a rich spiritual life naturally flows into a life of service. Our groundedness is the engine for our Justice & Advocacy. When we learn to love abundantly, we find the courage to act for our neighbors.
